Mammoth Media began working on BigPond Music in 2006, when it was still selling Windows Media Audio (WMA) tracks. The site has undergone continuous development since then including a migration to MP3 in 2008 and the removal of WMA tracks in 2009. Mammoth Media continues to work closely with many different Telstra divisions to enhance the site and increase customer satisfaction.
